This year I am teaching 4 sections of Studio art, and 1 section of drawing and painting. I have a very diverse group of students this year. The first 2 days of school are over, and I've been discussing with them what art can be and what makes an artist. I've been using things like Kidrobot and Nikes to start motivating them to get out of the mindset that art is just drawing things in a realistic way. If anyone has motivational ideas or lesson ideas for high school students, please share! I'm always looking for new ideas. I need to keep these kids on their toes this year, and make sure they stay interested.
